I am very eclectic in what I shoot but with my background in film making I tend to have a 'cinematic' eye.
My clients and social media followers often comment on my 'eye'. I think this is because I am really serious about composition. Let's face it with smart phones and social media everyone is a photographer these days and what we 'like' is in the eye of the beholder - like all art its subjective! What sets us apart I think is largely determined by how we compose shots, use light, understand perspective, depth of field, lenses, focus and the many other often quite technical issues that arise as we press the trigger and after that how we post process our images.
Yes I am largely self taught but I am studying constantly. I do short courses with professional mentors in areas I wish to improve and I am not ashamed to say I am a You-Tube and online student with many very successful photographers from all over the world whose work I admire and from whom I learn new techniques every day.
Locally I have some regular business clients and I shoot privately for several actors, models and musicians. To be honest I am trying to be semi-retired and I don't 'chase' clients; they choose me because they like my work and want to work with me. If you don't want to work with me thats fine too - I will even recommend other very good colleagues if you wish, that might better suit your needs.
That said, I love travelling and I shoot my art for myself while I do that. If someone wants me to travel for a shoot I will of course do that under mutually agreed terms.
So I hope you like what you see in my portfolio and if you don't that's fine too! If you wish to discuss a shoot contact me for a chat. Oh and I no longer do large scale events or weddings sorry; I leave this for others with whom I do not share that particular passion.
